kiss my grits, it's my first cd giveaway!

David Ford is supporting Augustana this Saturday at the Gothic Theatre. Now, I admit that I'm not really an Augustana fan, but it doesn't take much to get me out to see David Ford. For all you doubters, witness my favorite youtube video EVER: State Of The Union. For further confirmation that David Ford is genius, you can see Go To Hell. The man is amazing.

With thanks to Original Signal Recordings, I've got copies of David's latest album "Songs For The Road" for two lucky readers.

If you have the time for such things, you can read David's bio here, and some more PR stuff here.

And if you are interested in securing a copy of "Songs For The Road", please send an e-mail to denvermystik[at]gmail[dot]com with "David Ford" as the subject and your name and mailing address in the body. Don't worry, I won't share your information with anyone. Giveaway ends May 14, 2008, two winners will be chosen randomly.

I think David must loop his entire life. And I mean that in the best possible way...

more from the loop machine front

Recently I fell in love with David Ford's 2006 release entitled I Sincerely Apologise For All The Trouble I've Caused. It's a beautiful album. David was actually in town last May, opening for Gomez. I missed the show because I waited too long to get a ticket and it sold out. Had I known then of David Ford, I would have attended that show, to be sure.

Check out this video - one take of David doing State Of The Union. Brilliant.

Here is some more music from 2006 that I've been enjoying:

Clearlake - Amber
Frank Black - Fast Man Raider Man
Giddy Motors - Do Easy
Guillemots - From The Cliffs
The Hazey Janes - Hotel Radio
Kelley Stoltz - Below The Branches
The Kooks - Inside In Inside Out
The Lovely Feathers - Hind Hind Legs
The M's - Future Women
P.O.S. - Audition
Takka Takka - We Feel Safer At Night
Viva Voce - Get Yr Blood Sucked Out

Still wading through, barely making a dent...
